iKamper

In 2019, we opened the US office of iKamper in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We became a member of the Conservation Alliance and have joined the outdoor community's leading companies in protecting North America's wild places. We’ve also taken steps to help our local community by partnering with Northwest Harvest, a non-profit food bank dedicated to ending hunger here in Washington state. We wanted to share this exciting news with you and to demonstrate our commitment to our core message. You can contribute to Conservation Alliance here, and you can contribute to Northwest Harvest hereWe also encourage you to do your part and become involved in your local community to help people in need and to preserve nature.

THE CONSERVATION ALLIANCE

The Conservation Alliance is a group of like-minded companies that disburses its collective annual membership dues to grassroots environmental organizations. They direct our funding to community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitat and outdoor recreation. The Alliance was founded in 1989 by outdoor industry leaders REI, Patagonia, The North Face, and Kelty, who shared the goal of increasing outdoor industry support for conservation efforts. They now have more than 250 member companies, and plan to disburse more than $2 million in 2020.

Since its inception in 1989, the Alliance has contributed more than $23 million to grassroots conservation groups throughout North America. The results of their funding have been remarkable. Alliance funding has helped save 73 million acres of wildlands; protect 3,575 miles of rivers; stop or remove 35 dams; designate five marine reserves; and purchase 17 climbing areas. They follow a rigorous grant proposal review process that ensures our grants go to organizations that can succeed given the necessary financial resources.

NORTHWEST HARVEST

At Northwest Harvest they are leading the fight for hungry people statewide to have access to nutritious food while respecting their dignity and promoting good health.

Their vision is ending hunger in Washington. Northwest Harvest is the only nonprofit food bank distributor operating statewide in Washington with a network of 375 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools. Through this network, they provide nearly 2 million meals every month.

They are committed to nutrition. Northwest Harvest has decades of experience in promoting healthy eating while reducing hunger. They uphold high standards and ensure their supply of nutritious, in-demand products by purchasing a significant share of our food directly. Two-thirds of the food provided consists of highly nutritious fruits and vegetables.
