Skycamp 4.0 Quad

The 4.0 features key functional upgrades: premium cork-topped ThermaSeal™ flooring, an upgraded DuraCore™ double-layered shell, refined BreathWeave™ blackout canvas, larger windows and doors, and an added 75in² of usable interior space without changing the overall footprint of each tent. We’ve also added thoughtful convenience features like integrated interior lighting, duct and electrical pass-throughs, and optional air mattress systems.

The hard shell of the Skycamp is hand-crafted with DuraCore™ double-layer FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic). Having two layers helps with durability and built-in air insulation, making it soundproof and condensation resistant. Most other rooftop tents have a single-layer shell that leaves them more vulnerable to cracking and condensation.

Yes - each Skycamp model is designed with extra space to store bedding, but it definitely depends on the size and materials of the bedding. We recommend packing sleeping bags and pillows to the back left corner of the tent as you close it, since that's the area with the most room when closed. You can also create additional storage space by using an air mattress that fully compresses down when deflated. Your goal is to still be able to close the tent without issue or strain.

The shell is incredibly rugged and resilient across all 4 seasons, but making sure your tent is well protected during severe snow storms and blazing heatwaves will help extend the life of your Skycamp.

- In case of snow, do not allow it to rest on top of the shell for extended periods of time.
- Too much long-term exposure to high-UV rays can discolor the tent over time and lead to some cosmetic imperfections.

The shells can easily be cleaned with mild soap and a scrub brush, but we don't recommend drive-through car washes.

Unfortunately, we can not recommend mounting anything to the top of our Skycamp series hard-shell tents due to the design and build of the fiberglass hard-shell. Doing so would void the warranty for the tent as well as potentially compromise the structural/functional integrity of the unit.

Yes, the Skycamp series has 2 locking latches on the shell. For more protection, add the Bracket Locks to your mounting hardware.

Yes, the ladder foot cover should be attached every time you pack up the tent. It helps ensure protection of the vinyl layer on the rainfly from coming in contact with the rubber ladder feet. Not doing so can result in a damaged or discolored rainfly.

The 4.0 models have a larger opening than previous generations making any accessory that attaches at the entrance incompatible. We anticipate 4.0 compatible Annex Plus, Awning, and Insulation Tent to be available starting this summer.

However, the HC steps, Bracket Locks, Storage Rack, Mounting Rail End Caps and Shoe Rack remain compatible across generations.

Skycamp tents are designed to be fit most vehicle types and roof rack systems due to the universal mounting brackets.

The main requirements are that your vehicle roof and rack have a dynamic weight load of at least 185lbs (84kg) for the 4.0 Quad, 155lbs (71kg) for the 4.0 Trio, and 140lbs (64kg) for the Duo. ( In addition, your cross bars need to be at least 30” / 76 cm apart (22” / 55 cm apart for the Skycamp Mini).

You can find your vehicle’s roof dynamic weight load in your vehicle's user manual, or by contacting the manufacturer.

With their universal mounting system, iKamper roof top tents can be mounted on most racks and cross bars on the market. They are designed to be mounted on two normal cross bars (not directly on the roof of the car), such as ones from Thule, Yakima, or any other aftermarket cross bars ( he same bars you would attach your bike or kayak to) or roof/bed rack.  Check your vehicle's manual or contact the manufacturer to find your roof's dynamic weight limit.  Make sure your roof/bed rack or cross bars have a dynamic weight load of at least 185lbs (84kg) for the 4.0 Quad, 155lbs (71kg) for the 4.0 Trio, and 140lbs (64kg) for the Duo.
Your crossbars should be at least 30" (76 cm) apart (front to back), with a maximum distance of 60” (150 cm).  Check the spacing of the mounting rails below to make sure it fits your rack. The iKamper mounting rails are 1.77" (4.5 cm) wide.

Delivery of a roof top tent generally takes one to two weeks (including handling), depending on your proximity to the warehouse from which it is shipped. Unfortunately, we're unable to offer expedited shipping options. Most accessories are delivered within a week.

Very easy! You can mount and unmount them using just one bolt wrench (spanner) anytime you want. iKamper roof top tents can be loaded and unloaded by 2-3 people. The first time you mount the tent on your vehicle, it will take less than 30 minutes and once you get the hang of it, less than 10 minutes.

Yes, mounting hardware is included with any purchase of a rooftop tent. Our updated 3.0 Mounting Brackets are included with our Skycamp and X-Cover Series models. The BDV comes with its own BDV mounting hardware, however it is not compatible with other mounting brackets. These brackets are compatible with a max crossbar height of 1.2" (3 cm), width of 3.5" (9 cm). For higher cross bars, 1.0 Mounting Brackets should be used. Additional mounting brackets are available for purchase on our website in the cases that customers or dealers require additional brackets.

Each Skycamp 4.0 is manufactured in-house at our factory in South Korea. Each tent is hand-produced by a dedicated iKamper employee and must pass the strict set of quality tests before it can be delivered to North America.
